Made in Sweden
When I attended the Swedish School of Textiles we learned a lot about how the textile industry was affecting the environment and how the business works. I decided almost instantly that I wanted to make my products were I can control the production. The simplest way to do it is to make the products in Sweden, but the cost of production is significantly higher than Asia. But this is the passion in this company, to produce a high quality product in Sweden at a good price. Today the production is held at my familys farm where I grew up and with close collaboration with other Swedish suppliers.
When selecting the materials for the products I have a way of thinking. It is important to explore the whole production chain when deciding the which materials to work with.
For example, when I developed the pocket square I used a nice silk emulation made of polyester. The reason is that it is possible to print in high definition and in small quantities. The process of printing the polyster requires no water and have the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification.
It also gives the opportunity to work with laser cutting, which is a new way of producing thin pocket squares.
My goal is to use as much materials that is made in Sweden but there are many things that have the production in Asia, it its simply not even possible to find in Sweden. The parts that are made abroad I am working with certifed suppliers that guarantee the working place safety and minimal environmental impact.
